Kate Middleton Dresses wearing a Reiss dress during the Obama's state visit in London on May 24; a version of the popular dress available from Banana Republic. Banana Republic just copied Duchess Kate’s style: The retailer made a nearly identical replica of the royal’s famous, khaki-colored sheath dress by British brand Reiss. Kate had worn the chic, cap-sleeved bandage dress to meet President and Michelle Obama last May, and it quickly sold out at Reiss stores and crashed their website.
While Banana Republic's edition – actually called the “Kate sheath” – is missing the bottom pleating, it still boasts the original frock's elegant silhouette and accentuated waistband. Kate Middleton Dresses According to online reviewers, "while it is not as exquisitely designed and cut as (the original Reiss dress), it's a fine twist on a classic shape" and has "just enough stretch without being clingy."
It's sure to be the wedding dress of the decade, if not the century.
And while newly engaged Kate Middleton has yet to reveal who'll design her gown, style mavens and designers already are weighing in with their opinions on what they think she should wear on her big day.British bridal fashion expert Peta Hunt of You & Your Wedding magazine told the Daily Mail that the future queen will walk down the aisle in a traditional couture gown, wearing a crown or tiara on her head.
